Final break-up of the Brücke group, Mueller maintains contact and friendship with the other former members

1914–1918
Served in the military for one year during World War I and is briefly hospitalized in 1917

Mueller begins teaching at the Breslau Academy and continues there until his death

1920–1929
Extensive travels throughout Eastern Europe

1930
Died on September 24th in a sanatorium near Breslau
