After completing his studies at the Universite de la Haute-Bretagne in Rennes, Eric Fonteneau (born 1954, France) was invited to teach at his alma mater. At the same time, he became an art critic for magazines such as Art Vivant and Axe Sud. The practice of drawing is at the heart of Fonteneau's work; the artist also has recourse to a large variety of means of expression such as collage, models, photography, cut glass and printing plates. His first solo exhibition was at Moeller Fine Art in New York in 1998, and in 2009 he has his first exhibition at Moeller Fine Art in Berlin. Since 1985 he has produced many commissioned works for private and public institutions, including the Musee des Beaux-Arts, Nantes, the Marie de Paris, the Centre d'art de l'Yonne Chateau de Tanlay, and many more. Last year the artist was represented at the International Forum Toyko. Eric Fonteneau lives and works in Nantes.
