Moeller Fine Art is pleased to announce its participation in Master Drawings New York with Lyonel Feininger: Precision of Fantasy. This exhibition features a selection of watercolors and drawings by Lyonel Feininger from private collections, including works from the artist's formative years in Paris, the war years in Berlin, his time as a master at the Bauhaus, and return to his native New York. Moeller Fine Art's presentation includes landscapes and seascapes, architectural and street scenes, as well as mural studies and "Ghostie" watercolors, bringing together the varied themes in Feininger's oeuvre. Exhibition highlights include an 1891 illustration for Charles Dickens’ Bleak House; Vollersroda (1916), a whimsical watercolor depicting a Thuringian village; and (Rooftops and Watertowers), 1952 a cityscape that conveys the chill of a New York winter.

Since the gallery opened in 1972, Moeller Fine Art has been closely linked to Lyonel Feininger, and is the primary gallery for collectors and institutions seeking to purchase and sell works by the artist. Achim Moeller represents Lyonel Feininger Family Trusts and is Managing Principal of The Lyonel Feininger Project LLC, providing research and expertise concerning works attributed to the artist. Achim Moeller is currently preparing the three-volume Catalogue Raisonné of Paintings by Lyonel Feininger.
